The Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting 2024 brought together global leaders under the theme “What’s Working?” to accelerate proven solutions to pressing global challenges. Held at the Hilton Midtown in New York City during UN General Assembly week, the meeting focused on climate resilience, health equity, economic inclusion, and humanitarian response.
More than 3,000 leaders from over 110 countries convened, including heads of state, philanthropic leaders, executives, and global advocates. Notable participants included President Joe Biden, Prince Harry, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, José Andrés, and Prime Minister Mia Mottley, among others. The event served as both a convening of influence and a working forum for launching 175 new Commitments to Action.
The assignment required images for internal use, press, website coverage, and social media. Beyond documentation, the visual objective centered on capturing leadership presence, meaningful exchanges, and brand-aligned moments across a highly visible global stage.
Imagery needed to reflect not only who was in the room, but the tone of the conversations — thoughtful, solutions-driven, and globally relevant — while highlighting key figures such as President Clinton, President Biden, and Prince Harry.
Andriana Ortiz of Emmages was brought in by Max Orenstein of Run With It Productions as part of a large-scale event photography team.
Coverage was executed across a coordinated team of eight photographers and four editors. Within that structure, Andriana was assigned to document breakout sessions and private meetings, contributing to the broader visual record of the event while working within a structured, multi-team workflow.
The event operated within a highly structured, high-level environment shaped by global leadership and formal programming. Energy centered on stage moments — panels, speeches, and presentations — where key ideas and announcements were delivered.
Coverage focused on clean framing, speaker interaction, and brand presence, with an emphasis on capturing leadership moments with clarity and intention.
Coverage prioritized:
Coverage focused on capturing humanity within high-level leadership spaces — moments that felt warm, present, and grounded despite the scale of the event.
Across the event, the visual focus remained on leadership presence, speaker engagement, and the human tone behind global conversations.
Working within assigned sessions, Andriana moved discreetly and with restraint, capturing moments without disruption. Positioning was intentional, maintaining a respectful distance while remaining close enough to document meaningful interactions.
During speeches and presentations, shooting was timed carefully to capture strong expressions and key moments without overshooting. Movement between spaces was minimal and purposeful, aligned with the flow of the event and the structure of the team.
Coverage was structured around assigned sessions, with movement guided by the production team. While not embedded directly with leadership, Andriana operated within close proximity to high-level speakers during breakout sessions and presentations.
That approach ensured respectful distance while still allowing for intentional, composed imagery aligned with the tone of the event.
Images were delivered continuously throughout the event, with files submitted to an on-site editing team for same-day selects and immediate use.
This workflow supported real-time communications, ensuring that key moments could be shared quickly across platforms while maintaining consistency across a multi-photographer team.

The assignment demanded precision, discretion, and consistency at every level.
Working across breakout sessions and leadership spaces, the imagery contributed to a unified visual record that supported real-time communications, press visibility, and post-event storytelling.
“You all delivered by going above and beyond.”
That response reflected more than execution. It reflected alignment, trust, and the ability to meet the demands of a complex global convening.
This assignment marked a defining moment in Andriana’s experience working within global leadership environments. Documenting conversations among leaders from over 110 countries provided a deeper understanding of the scale, responsibility, and presence required in these spaces.
Emmages documents conferences, leadership events, and institutional gatherings with a discreet, embedded approach designed for real communications use. From same-day selects to full recap libraries, coverage is built to support visibility, credibility, and long-term narrative value.
